As you guys know I just recently put up a review video for this great @tim_holtz @tonicstudios #stampplatform Some viewers expressed concern due to the rumours of some sort of patent / legal case bought by the makers of MISTI and how as the consumer those issues might effect them. Firstly, and I know a lot of you probably already know, but I am actually a lawyer and I want to say if something is being sold by a legimate source and you purchase, you as that consumer have no liability for any case bought against the manafacturer. However the reason for this post is that I contacted Tonic directly and asked if they could give a statement for me to pass on to you all to explain, as much as they are able due to legal constraints, what the situation is. This is what they had to say:-
In regards to the MISTI patent we are int eh middle of discussion with all parties so we are not allow to comment in depth as to the situation but we did do a press release for the USA. The first thing to say is this ONLY effects the USA territories and does not effect the sale or use of the product anywhere else in the world. So our European customers are totally unaffected. We have not shipped any product in effected territories as we don't want to put our retailers or consumers in a situation which may be ambiguous. So basically if people have one there are no problems!

Dear Valued Customer
Tonic is very excited to launch the new Tim Holtz Stamping Platform Model 1707e in place of the Model 1708e previously announced. However, we need to inform you of a delay in the launch of this product. As you may be aware, My Sweet Petunia (MSP) have been granted a patent that they claim is on their Misti Stamping Platform.
While we do not consider our Tim Holtz Tonic Studios Stamping Platform Model 1708e to be an infringement of this patent and its claims, we do not want to expose our customers to any legal action from MSP and are launching the Model 1707e in its place. The ongoing protection and sustainability of the Tonic brand and our products are paramount to our ongoing relationship with all our retail partners.
Our attorneys are working on this case and advise that they expect to have a positive resolution. We apologize for this inconvenience but we fully expect to be able to ship the Model 1707e to you within the next 6-8 weeks.
We will be giving updates as we work with all parties to resolve this matter and hope to give you more information soon. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.
I hope you find that helpful, but please if you have further concerns do message me and I will do my best to get them answered. What I am trying to do is get the concerns answered directly rather than us chatting amongst ourselves and probably getting it wrong :-) My legal brain does not like that lol!
On a happy side note, the video of the stamper is proving popular and so I thought I would do a video showing a variety of stamping techniques that you can do using this stamper. I haven't filmed it yet but am hoping to get it to you in the next 2 weeks. Enjoy!
