UK opposition leader on meetings with EU leaders

Описание: (21 Feb 2019) British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn was in Brussels on Thursday, meeting various European Union leaders to discuss how to avoid a chaotic exit of Britain from the bloc next month.
Corbyn first visited the European Commission where he met with EU chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier, before meeting some members of the European Parliament Brexit steering committee led by Guy Verhofstadt.
Leaving the meeting Corbyn said the meeting had been "productive" and that he stressed Labour was "determined to try and get no deal taken off the table, that is serious proposition."
Verhofstadt for his part said he hoped a cross party solution could be found in the coming days and weeks.
Corbyn's visit comes a day after British Prime Minister Theresa May's meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
Asked about the British government's decision to revoke the citizenship of Shamima Begum, a 19-year-old who left the country in 2015 with two friends to join the Islamic State and recently gave birth in a refugee camp, Corbyn said she should be allowed to come back to Britain and then be questioned.
"She should be questioned of everything that has been going on, and whatever action that has to be taken, taken after that," Corbyn told reporters as he left his meeting.
