Foil Drive Gen 2 and Luxury Whitsunday Charter Catamaran

We arrived the first evening in Nara Inlet with a crocodile lurking unbeknownst to us and experienced a full on 40 knot squall crossing the Whitsunday passage... but found that no impediment to a foil session immediately. While Barry is a seasoned professional on foiling devices of all types, it was my first time on the Foil Drive Gen 2 and struggled to get going on his small board setup.

The following morning, I tried the foil drive on my 90 liter Sunova downwind/wing board and Foil Drived for the first time. Three years of experience in foil sports including E foils, wing foils, prone foiling, and so a larger board setup made it easy to get going on the Foil Drive Gen 2.

It was the next day that we ventured down to Shaw Island despite the weather and found anchor and solitude at the bottom end of the island group. It was here that I once again tried the Foil Drive Gen 2 on the small Armstrong prone size board under the wise guidance of Barry unlocked a couple of key pieces of knowledge and had my first rides on the smaller rig.

One thing that I discovered for myself was to hold the trigger inside the second knuckle.. and at the top of the trigger, so you would better manage the power supply variance.

I am convinced that this smaller rig is the way to go when it comes to Foil Drive Gen 2 as it gives you so much less swing weight at the nose and magnifies the manoeuvrability.

Not done with the holiday yet and with the winds favoring we found ourselves at Whitehaven Beach and Chalkies Beach for some Foil Drive Gen 2 action, along with some winging.

With the trip winding up, we anchored inside the Whitsunday island group and on the final morning calm conditions obligated me to have one more go on the Foil Drive Gen 2 as we set sail for home.

The Whitsundays charter is a compelling case for Foil Drive Gen 2 as the ideal companion on a boat trip... Even better if you can find some bumps waves or swell to transition from drive onto foil only and ride where you never could foil before.
