From our Grand Ambassador Hotel ,the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, also known as Al Bastakiya, was a short walk away. It is one of Dubai's oldest and most significant heritage sites, dating back to the 1890s. As of February 2026, it remains a central cultural hub offering a glimpse into traditional Emirati life before the city's modern expansion. We got there by following the walking paths along the river. Our lunch was a little more expensive than those in Southeast Asia to date but we order two meals and each ended up being enough for two people so we took one home for dinner. Overall good value.
