The Rottweiler is a large, stocky, muscular dog that can appear very intimidating. In TV and film, the Rottweiler often is depicted as a vicious aggressor and an attack dog.
With those negative images in mind, many people jump to the conclusion that a Rottweiler will not make a good family pet and that he will not be good with children. This simply is not the case.
Are Rottweilers good family dogs? The answer is yes, they can be.
A Rottweiler should not automatically be ruled out as a family pet. When correctly trained, socialized and cared for, the Rottweiler can make a wonderful family pet – loyal, loving and calm.
