Taking part in traffic is not easy for all of us. We think cycling is very common in the Dutch city of Amersfoort, but for some citizens it is not that convenient.
Cycling offers freedom
In episode two of a series of five videos, we meet Lula Alin. She came to the Netherlands from Somalia a few years ago and wanted to learn to ride a bike. She proudly explains that she can now easily get to town without worrying about being late to pick up her children from school. Cycling offers freedom and independence for seniors as well. But they find it increasingly difficult to keep up with traffic, especially if they've fallen or need a different bike due to their health.
