1Z52 1122 London Victoria to Windsor & Eton Riverside Steam locomotive B1 61306 Mayflower will be on the mainline again this Tuesday, as it hauls this week’s Royal Windsor Steam Express. These one-way tours by Steam Dreams will depart London Victoria, bound for Windsor and Eton Riverside, twice a day. The first trip of the day will depart London Victoria at 11:22 and will pass through West Brompton (11:43), Brentford (12:37), Hounslow (11:41), Feltham (12:49), Staines (12:55) and Windsor and Eton Riverside (13:06). The tour is then diesel hauled back to London Victoria via Clapham Junction (13:59) and London Victoria (14:16) The second trip of the day will depart London Victoria at 14:23 and will pass through Clapham Junction (14:43), Twickenham (14:55), Feltham (15:02), Staines (15:18) and Windsor and Eton Riverside (15:32). Also saw the freight train I saw and passed earlier GBRf Class 66 66795 6F93 1122 Churchyard Castle Cement G to Ketton Ward Sdg Gbrf running four minutes early 13:29. First time filming this Class 66. Had a great day also went on 360119 360 Desiro EMU to London and also on way back to Wellingborough Station in declassified First Class seats.

Also features the new EMR staff uniforms for 2022. Built for the London & North Eastern Railway, LNER 61306 Mayflower is one of two surviving B1 Class locomotives.

The B1's were designed as mixed traffic locomotives capable of hauling express passenger trains as well as freight traffic. As powerful, go anywhere engines, the B1's worked across most of the UK rail network from East Anglia to Scotland.

Mayflower was built in 1948 by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow but was delivered post-nationalisation and acquired the number 61306 by British Railways. She was first allocated to Hull Botanic Gardens Depot followed by a spell at Hull Dairycotes Depot before being finally transferred to Low Moor Depot, Bradford. She was the last B1 in service, her final trip was hauling the 'Yorkshire Pullman' from Leeds in September 1967.

Mayflower was immediately purchased for preservation and was initially based at Steamtown in Carnforth. She was fully restored for mainline operation and worked a number of railtours in the 1970's. Acquired by Steam Dreams owner David Buck in 2014, she returned to the mainline in 2015 before being withdrawn for an extensive overhaul. Resplendent in the early British Railways apple green livery as she was originally given when delivered in 1948 she returned to full mainline operation in early 2019.

Mayflower has two cylinders, 6 driving wheels, a firebox grate area of 30 square feet and can operate at 75mph.
