Improving your ballet technique requires a balance between diligent training days and rest days.
Dancers require rest days in order to allow their muscles to repair and build. Otherwise, with constant use and exercise muscles are more prone to overuse injuries and decreased performance levels.
To improve your ballet technique and have the energy and performance you want requires you to take rest days seriously.
Rest days for dancers don't just mean sitting around. Rest days can include gentle stretching, walking, light swimming, or activities such as yoga.
Finding a schedule that works for you as a dancer is extremely important to maintain this balance and avoid dance overuse injuries.
