This is an interesting mix of a dark ride and a thrill ride. It's basically a vertical dark ride. It's called "Knights Ride Tower" and is located at the excellent Fantasiana theme park located in Strasswalchen, Austria.

The ride itself is awesome. The gondola is a long bench with a combined lapbar for everyone. That means the smaller you are, the looser the restraint is. My thighs touched the restraint, so smaller people might get even more thrilling airtime on it. I would still consider this ride a "family thrill" ride. It has some kick to it, without being extreme.

The gondola rises up for the first show scene, goes up to the next one etc. Reminds me a bit of the Tower Of Terror rides at Disney. At the top, there are some surprises for the riders before the drop goes down. The drop has a solid airtime pop! Didn't expect that from that small height. It's more intense then the funtime drop towers for sure, and the modern ones from them already have a good amount of airtime!

All in all, I recommend getting on it. It's in the dark, but that might be a plus for everyone who is afraid of heights.

The surprises before the drop are some compressed air aimed at the lower legs and a very effective back tickler before the onride photo is being taken and the drop happens.
