What if The Skywalkers Were a Rich and Renowned Family? Let’s explore the depths of it in the video.
During the Naboo Crisis, Qui-Gon survived his duel with Maul thanks to Obi-Wan, and the two led a daring escape with Gungans and Naboo citizens. Shmi Skywalker newly ennobled through her family’s vast mercantile holdings on Tynna and close personal ties to key senators—leveraged her influence to secure an emergency Senate hearing, championing a relief fleet that arrived just days later to tip the balance and force the Trade Federation into retreat. In the aftermath, Queen Amidala ousted Chancellor Valorum, and Palpatine exploited the chaos to rise as Supreme Chancellor, using emergency powers to consolidate control.
A fortnight after the lasers fell silent and Coruscant’s corridors buzzed with talk of Palpatine’s triumph—and Shmi’s celebrated role in the relief efforts—peace settled briefly over Naboo and over the Skywalker estate.
Coruscant pulses with power. The capital world of the Republic glows endlessly beneath its artificial sky, ships streak across tiers of durasteel towers, and golden light reflects off a million windows. High above the noise, nestled near the Senate Dome, sits a stately Naboo-style estate. Smooth stone walls. Elegant domes. A private compound reserved for one of Naboo’s most respected families: the Skywalkers.
Inside, down a vaulted hallway of imported wood and crystal chandeliers, the sound of a reception hums from below. But away from the guests, alone on a curved marble balcony, stands a boy.
Anakin Skywalker is only nine. He wears clean silks. No chains. No dirt. No slavery. He leans on the railing, eyes locked on the skyline, and the silhouette of the Jedi Temple beyond the haze.
(Female)Shmi (gently): You don’t want to come back down?
(Kid)Anakin (softly): They’re just arguing. About credits and trade routes.
(Female)Shmi (smiling): Mmm. So you were listening.
(Kid)Anakin (shrugs): I don’t try to. I just hear everything. I saw the Jedi earlier. The ones from Naboo. They looked at me… like I wasn’t supposed to be there.
(Female)Shmi: Maybe they didn’t expect to see a child standing that tall.
(Kid)Anakin: They didn’t even talk to me…Why won’t they train me?
(Female)Shmi: Because you weren’t raised in their halls. Because they didn’t find you first. They follow tradition. It keeps them safe. But sometimes… tradition makes people blind.
(Kid)Anakin: Do you think they’re afraid of me?
(Female)Shmi (after a beat): I think they’re afraid of what they don’t control.
(Kid)Anakin: Then maybe they’re not as strong as everyone says.
(Female)Shmi (gently): Strength isn’t just power, Ani. It’s what you do with it.
(Kid)Anakin: Then what am I supposed to do?
(Female)Shmi: Be who you are. Not who they expect.
By midday, the Senate rotunda thrums with quiet tension. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine moves through the chamber, flanked by aides, and beside him, Anakin Skywalker walks in full view. No longer hidden, the boy carries himself with composure beyond his years. Senators glance. Holocams flicker. Whispers rise about his Force training, his lineage. From the upper gallery, Palpatine’s eyes settle on the boy, studying him—not with surprise, but with patient, calculating interest.
Coruscant simmers beneath a blue dusk, its lights flickering like fireflies across a restless metallic ocean. Far above the din, the Jedi Temple rises from the surface like a temple carved into the clouds. Its spires reach skyward, ancient and regal.
Within the Council chamber, the Jedi Masters sit in a wide circle, shrouded in silence. Shafts of fading sunlight cut through the high windows, casting long shadows across the polished floor. The weight of tradition lingers in the air.
Qui-Gon Jinn stands at the center, hands at his sides. His voice breaks the quiet, measured and sure.
Qui-Gon: He has gifts, raw, yes, but unlike anything I’ve seen. The Force doesn’t flow around him. It flows through him.
Ki-Adi-Mundi (low): We agree he needs guidance. But the mother has denied us at every turn.
Mace Windu (caution, urgency): We must find a path that respects her fear of Jedi dogma. She sees chains where we offer structure.
Yoda: A seed, he is. Plant the seed, we must. But demand fruit too soon, we cannot.
Qui-Gon: I will speak with her again. Not to persuade, but to show her we open doors, not close them.
Mace Windu: Then we vote to send a formal invitation. Once she understands our intent, she will have no reason to refuse.
