Lugaw is traditionally made by boiling glutinous rice in water, the basic version is spiced by ginger garlic and salt. Traditionally served with calamansi, soy sauce or patis(fish sauce) also paired with meat and seafood dishes most commonly the tokwa't baboy(cubed tofu and pork). Lugaw is one of the comfort food in the Philippines eaten specially when you are sick.
In this video I will share to you how i cook the basic lugaw so you can also do your own lugaw at home and there is no need to go outside to buy it, specially nowadays that its hard to dine in outside because of the pandemic.
Ingredients:
1cup Glutinous rice(250g)
2 thumb sized Ginger
2 thumb sized Turmeric(optional)
4 cloves Garlic
1 medium Onion
3 tbsp Fish sauce
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black pepper
1 Chicken cube
1.5L of water
Garnish(optional)
Hard boiled Egg
Calamansi
Chicharon
Toasted Garlic
Spring Onion
