The Battle of Maxia / U.S.S. Stargazer DSC

Описание: Presenting.....The Battle of Maxia. Using my DSC Stargazer. First visiting Maxia Zeta III, making a planetary scan, then moving on to Maxia Zeta IV.

Doing some research from Memory Alpha, watching TNG: The Battle, reading the actual battle in the book The Buried Age, Trekyards "The Battle of Maxia" episode, and looking at VideoSpaceFX's amazing version of The Battle of Maxia (funny we ended up using the same music in the beginning, didnt even notice that until I finished lol, the original beginning I was going to use is actually when you first see the star system, but figured I should put something before it seeing I made 2 warp fly bys), I began this project.

According to Memory Alpha, the Maxia Zeta star system is a binary system with a K type primary star and an M type star. Even though the diagram of the system only shows the primary K type star. But I showed them both anyway. The nebulous background among the stars was just an extra touch.

At first I was only going to make the Picard Maneuver, but figured you guys would want the entire Battle of Maxia, so I figured....lets do it!

Quick Note: I was trying to make this a bit more realistic, so when I saw the distance covered would be 30 light seconds (9 million km), I pushed the ship farther back than its always represented. BUT....I noticed at that distanced it was pretty much a dot lol. So, I brought her a bit closer so you guys could actually SEE the Stargazers after image.

Also, I wasn't going to add this, but just in case someone thinks I made a mistake by having an after image zooming backwards after the Stargazer "appears" instead of moving forward like a normal warp drop. Thats not a mistake, I made it that way based off how it would realistically look. Due to the vessel dropping out of warp close by from a short distance, you should see the ship just appear out of no where, then due to the light still catching up from its previous positions, you should see an after image appear to move backwards to the source extremely fast. Thats why I made that effect. Some of that is actually explained in the PBS Space Time video "Superluminal Time Travel + Time Warp Challenge Answer | Space Time". (Just go to the 7 minute mark for the explanation of what you'd see if a ship a light speed passed by you).

So basically I tried to make some bits realistic (the bits that I thought would look cool IRL), along with some aesthetic choices such as bringing the vessel closer so she could be seen.

Im STILL working on my explosions, I make animations constantly but I dont create explosions that much so thats one thing Im still working on.

Finally, I also tried to add some detailing such a scorch marks, flashing (power failing) windows, fiery windows (seeing she had multiple fires....yea, thats what the yellow windows are lol), along with other bits showing damage.

All in all, this took about 17 days to make. As always....enjoy :)
