He looked to the abyss, through the darkness of stone, And saw there a terror that sat on a throne. "Enter not!" he commanded, with wisdom and fear, For the Bane of the Durin was slumbering near. He knew that the fire was awake in the deep, Where the shadows of old their dark vigil keep. He returned to his mountains, to iron and ore, To guard all his people and prepare them for war.

Dáin Ironfoot! Lord of the Rock! Standing his ground in the battle’s own shock. Axe of the crimson and crown of the steel, The King who would never surrender or kneel. From the deep shadows to the glitter of gold, The guard of the mountain, fearless and bold.

Five armies in battle, the thunder was high, He came with his dwarves ‘neath the overcast sky. To stand with his cousin, with Thorin the Great, To challenge the darkness and challenge their fate. King ‘neath the Mountain he finally became, Restoring the glory and restoring the name. Just in his ruling and strong in his hand, The greatest of Kings in the northern-most land.
