Places you can visit in Karatu include Endoro waterfalls, Lake Eyasi, Kambi ya simba Forest Reserve, Mount Oldeani, Mumba rock paintings, and Yaeda Valley for cultural tourism to see the Hadzabe and Datooga communities are some of the important attractions in Karatu district.

The Hadza people are the last known formal tribal group in the world. Today, they live in a forested area near Lake Eyasi in Tanzania. The people still live the same lives as they did 50,000 years ago, hunting with bows and arrows in the forests or on the savannas.

Datooga people are a Nilotic ethnic people group from Tanzania, located in Karatu District of Arusha Region and historically in areas of southwest Manyara Region and northern Singida Region.

Ndoro Waterfalls, also known as the largest waterfall in the Marangu area, is located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania. It's known for its scenic trekking path through lush vegetation and offers opportunities for swimming, photography, and cultural visits to nearby Chagga villages

Lake Eyasi is a lake located in Karatu District of Arusha Region in north Tanzania. Lake Eyasi is the largest body of water in Arusha region. It is a seasonal shallow endorheic salt lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley at the base of the Serengeti Plateau, just south of the Serengeti National Park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. The lake is elongated, orientated southwest to northeast, and lies in the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Great Rift Valley.
