A classic physics demonstration is recorded and allows the viewer to determine the relationship between the speed of a transverse pulse in a slinky and the length (tension) of the slinky. A pulse is created and the motion is tracked/recorded for 4 different lengths of slinky (3.0 m, 4.0 m, 5.0 m, 6.0 m).
This demonstration is traditionally completed in a first year physics course in secondary school (grade 11, or year 3 of high school), when discussing and reviewing waves.
