Описание: In the densely populated capital city of Haiti, public spaces and green urban areas are hard to find. But there is one notable exception – the Martissant Park - located at the southern entrance to Port-au-Prince in the middle of a struggling community. Created by FOKAL (Fondation Connaissance et Liberté) with a mandate from the Haitian government since 2007 to preserve the last remaining natural forest in the city, the park is an oasis of peace and serenity where there is something for everyone. The Covid-19 crisis has slowed down but it did not stop FOKAL’s work. As we emerge from the pandemic, FOKAL and its partners are striving to build more public spaces like Martissant and make them available to the Haitians to improve the quality of their lives.
