'Excited & Happy': Indian Diaspora In Ethiopia Eager To Welcome PM As Modi Lands In Addis Ababa

Описание: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Ethiopia from Jordan on the second leg of his four-day, three-nation tour. The Indian diaspora in Ethiopia is eagerly awaiting his arrival and preparing a warm welcome. In a special gesture, Jordanian Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II personally drove PM Modi to the airport and bid him farewell. This marks PM Modi’s first visit to Ethiopia, during which he will address a Joint Session of the Ethiopian Parliament. He will share his thoughts on India’s journey as the “Mother of Democracy” and highlight the value of the India-Ethiopia partnership for the Global South. The Prime Minister will also hold discussions with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and meet members of the Indian diaspora. Ahead of the visit, Addis Ababa has been adorned with welcome hoardings, posters, and Indian flags. Indian Ambassador Anil Kumar Rai noted the visit comes 15 years after the last prime ministerial visit, at a time of major economic reforms in Ethiopia.
