21 March in South Africa marks the commemoration of an incredibly sombre and dark day in South Africa’s history, when unarmed protesters against pass laws were gunned down, leaving 69 dead. Now known as Human Rights Day, it is filled with events that celebrate and honour those who lost their lives in one of the many struggles against apartheid.
