Following the closure of the Tavistock Clinic, the UK government banned the prescription of puberty blockers for minors under 18. The Cass Review, an independent inquiry into the treatment of gender dysphoria in children, concluded that the Tavistock Trust was making changes to treatment protocols without a solid evidence base, casting doubt on the safety and efficacy of these treatments.

Despite these findings, the NHS has recently announced plans to trial the use of puberty blockers on children once again. Dr. Bell, however, argues that this move would be unethical and could cause significant harm to vulnerable young people.
