JOURNAL:
January 2nd. The holidays were amazing. I’m glad to be getting back to work, though. There was a bare spot next to the door, and I decided it would be nice to have a dedicated place to hang keys and set down my daily carry essentials. Using some scrap trim boards and a few hooks, I managed to make a simple but effective little design.

January 8th. My shelf brackets arrived today, and I’m ready to make the shelves themselves. To keep things consistent and affordable, I’ve decided to use 1x6 whitewood with the usual shellac treatment. Three on each side should be more than enough. A big rainstorm is moving in tonight, so I had to hustle to finish the shelves this evening.

January 9th. The weather moved in as promised. The temperatures are up, but I haven’t seen this much rain in months. It’s nice to see all the grading from this fall working as intended, though.
Time to get these shelves up — along with a hanging produce basket.

January 12th. The winter temperatures have returned, and there’s a blanket of frost on everything this morning - a perfect time to relax and make some breakfast: eggs, avocado, and Tracy’s sourdough bread. Yum.
