6000 years old terracotta plate of a boy holding a writing slate was found in Mathura, India. It is the Oldest physical evidence of writing in India. Maharishi Ved Vyasa compiled the Vedas around 3100 BC which is also an evidence of the old tradition of reading and writing in India. Various other traditions of Indus Valley Civilization, Harappa Civilization like wearing bangles, sindoor etc are still present in our daily life.
