Cued Speech is demonstrated in a preschool classroom and speech therapy room. Four-year-old Speech Therapy student, Aaron, demonstrates language comprehension, spelling, and identifying plural words, through the use of Cued Speech. Aaron is profoundly deaf, and hears with a cochlear implant.
Note that this level of teaching is not typical for the preschool in general, but has been tailored specifically for this student's speech therapy sessions, focusing on his abilities and interest in numbers and letters, as a way to improve his speaking and listening skills. The Cued Speech classroom itself typically has around 15 students, one teacher, and multiple aides and teachers assistants, focusing on preschool-level skill-building and instruction.
