Together, with the authors of the book, Karen Nickel, Sarah Strauss, Megan Budke, we explored what meaningful feedback really looks like in language classrooms—how much is enough, how timing matters, and how feedback can support growth rather than overwhelm learners. We discussed why feedback is often reduced to grades or praises, how students at different proficiency levels engage with it, and what teachers can do to help learners actually use feedback.
We also reflected on the role of AI in feedback and what remains distinctly human in guiding learner development.
