In a society where parents—especially mothers—are often judged for choosing daycare, the conversation is usually framed around guilt, compromise, and sacrifice. But what if daycare isn’t a fallback option at all? What if it’s a powerful foundation for a child’s growth?
Drawing from 18 years of experience in early childhood education—and her own journey of growing up in daycare—Saili Rawool Panchal challenges long-held misconceptions around parenting, working families, and early development. She explores how daycare environments foster social skills, emotional intelligence, language development, independence, and confidence—often in ways that isolated home settings cannot.
Through real-life stories of children learning to share, communicate across languages, follow structure, and build resilience, Saili reframes daycare as a space of learning, laughter, and belonging. She also addresses an often-overlooked truth: children need communities, and parents need permission to care for themselves without guilt. Saili Rawool Panchal is an entrepreneur, artist, and event anchor based in Navi Mumbai. She is the Director of Saili’s Art Zone, where she nurtures creativity through art, dance, music, and handicraft courses. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
