The Difference Between 「老师」 and 「先生」 – Simple Chinese

Описание: 1️⃣ 老师 (Lǎoshī / Teacher)
• Used in teaching situations, like school classrooms
• When you meet a teacher for the first time, you can just say: “老师好”
• When meeting the teacher for the second or third time, add the surname: “王老师”, “李老师”
• This shows respect and that you remember the teacher
• Without the surname, just saying “老师好” may feel impolite or as if you don’t remember the teacher

2️⃣ 先生 (Xiānsheng / Sir / Husband)
• Used in formal occasions
• Can refer to educated or respected people
• Can also refer to your own or someone else’s husband, but must use a pronoun before it: “我先生”, “您先生”, “他先生”

• 학교 수업과 같은 교육 상황에서 사용
• 선생님을 처음 만날 때는 “老师好”라고 말하면 됨
• 두 번째나 세 번째 만날 때는 성을 붙여서: “王老师”, “李老师”
• 이렇게 하면 존중을 나타내고 선생님을 기억하고 있다는 느낌을 줄 수 있음
• 성을 안 붙이고 “老师好”만 하면 조금 무례하게 느껴지거나 선생님을 기억하지 못한 것처럼 들릴 수 있음

2️⃣ 先生 (Xiānsheng / Sir / Husband)
• 공식적인 자리에서 사용
• 지식층이거나 존경받는 사람을 부를 때도 사용
• 또한 자신의 남편이나 다른 사람의 남편을 가리킬 때도 사용하지만, 반드시 앞에 인칭대명사 필요: “我先生”, “您先生”, “他先生”
