Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, delivered his opening statement on Nov. 13, the first day of the impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump. "There are few actions as consequential as the impeachment of a President. While the Founders did not intend that impeachment be employed for mere differences over policy, they also made impeachment a constitutional process that the Congress must utilize when necessary," Schiff said during his opening statement.
