An intensive scientific beekeeping training and demonstration programme integrated with oilseed-based cropping systems was organised at Washou Village, under National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM).
The programme focused on strengthening scientific beekeeping practices and enhancing the role of honeybees in pollination of oilseed crops to improve farm productivity and rural livelihoods in Tuensang District.
The training was funded by the National Bee Board under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, and implemented by Nagaland University, School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema Campus.
The programme was led by Dr. Mary N. Odyuo (PI) and Dr. Avinash Chauhan (Co-PI), AICRP on Honey Bee and Pollinators.
