We spent 36-ish hours off-grid in a Dutch nature reserve. Two nights, wild camping with hammocks in two beautiful and remote spots (No cellphone Signal). We hiked nearly 30 Kilometers, often straying off the trails to explore the forest more freely.
Along the way, we encountered wild boars, countless insects (including the ticks), and a wide variety of plants. We filtered our water straight from natuure, slept deeply under the stars, and rarely saw another human being. The ultimate silence by day and nighttime was almost surreal.. Not what I am being used to here in the Netherlands.
Despite it being just a short trip, it felt like a full week away from daily life, grounded, queit and surprisingly home-like.
