Plettenberg Bay experienced incredible marine activity today as a large shoal of sardines moved through the bay. The dense bait ball attracted a range of predators, including sharks weaving through the fish and a Bryde’s whale feeding close to the surface.
Visitors were also treated to unique behaviour from our Cape fur seals, with a pair seen interacting in what appeared to be a mating display.
Events like these highlight why Plett is one of South Africa’s top marine-life destinations — where encounters with whales, dolphins, sharks, and seals are possible right from the shoreline.
Plettenberg Bay continues to prove itself as a world-class location for ocean wildlife viewing, with something different to experience every season.
