There are so many melodies that just scream "SINNOH!" to me, and Route 206 is one of those! The melody at 0:25 just washes me with nostalgia and brings back so many memories of exploring Sinnoh. I originally was hoping to play this tune on soprano sax, but seeing as I don't have one (yet), I gave it a shot on clarinet, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the sound of it! Playing a melody like this in F# major on the clarinet presented its own collection of challenges (curse you side keys!), but this ended up sounding really good! The original tune is only about a 40 second loop, so I'm very pleased with how much narrative arc I drew out of the original tune!

And just when you thought it was done... I threw in the Sinnoh bike theme! I know several of you have been waiting for me to cover this theme, and I'm happy to include as a medley with this track, since Route 206 is Sinnoh's version of Cycling Road. I had some fun with the synth bell lines that play in the background, and also tried my hand at including some samples of bike sounds to add some character... turned out pretty :)
