The Essex County Turtle Back Zoo Railroad's Blue Train at Turtle Back Junction

Описание: Decided to do a bit of railfanning while I was on my spring break. This was taken from the Lion Parking Deck's fifth level. At the time this video was taken, the fence separating the reservoir walkway and the railroad tracks was being replaced, resulting in the temporary closure of that portion of the walkway. Therefore I was unable to railfan at my usual location of Turnaround Hill.

Since November 2021, the railroad's new safety system, designed by the head engineer and an outside signal company, was activated, allowing two train operation to return. However, this entire week, only the blue train was running, with #306 pulling its favorite train once again. This is also unusual, as the red train should be running since it holds more people and #382 is the newest of the three locomotives. I guess #382 is either taking a break or it broke down again. In the meantime, #199 is still undergoing a rebuild to keep it in good condition.

I will begin to work here again in mid-May, lasting until the first week August. This may (or may not) be my last time working at the zoo, as I graduate from college next year and will begin looking for a real job related to my degree upon graduation. I hope to see you all there.
