This is where the reader steps in. We read the screenplay, and then we tell the writer our impression of the story

First, we reveal what the story is about. You'd be surprised how many times the reader's interpretation of a story is not what the writer intended!

After revealing the story, readers reveal what works and what needs improvement within the screenplay.

Then what?

Usually, it's back to face the pages. The writer must rewrite the screenplay. 😅

But how? This is where writers often get stuck. Facing the blank page may seem tough....facing a rewrite can be even harder!

As readers, sometimes we have the opportunity to work with a writer to help them with a rewrite. Other times, a producer will ask us to help develop a screenplay by diving into the process of rewriting it with the team.

It's very exciting when this happens! However, identifying what doesn't work is one thing; knowing what to do next to fix a screenplay is something else altogether.
