Jeremy Stolle & Elizabeth Welch in POTO Broadway!

Описание: In honor of the Broadway production closing, I bring you an entire week of full recordings taken over the years!

One of the many things that has made this production run is understudies. Or should we say WONDER-studies! Especially with Covid, understudies, swings, and emergency covers have made the show go on. They deserve all the respect and appreciation in the world! This audio is to spread some love to just a few of the many that have graced the stage of the Majestic.

Jeremy and Elizabeth have been with the show for almost the same. Jeremy has been covering the Phantom, Raoul, and Piangi since about 2010. Elizabeth has been understudy Christine in the US Tour and Broadway since 2008, with (finally) a principal run in the 2015-16 Oberhausen production. Yep, it took performing in another language for her to get a principal spot! And after so many years performing alongside one another, they became a couple! In the words of Elizabeth, "My love... One of the best gifts this show gave me."

Alongside them are some other long-running understudies. Paul Schaefer has been with the production since about 2008, and yet this show was the first time Jeremy, Elizabeth, and Paul had finally gone on together! Stephen Tewksbury was an u/s Phantom in the 3rd US Tour, LeFevre in the Restaged US Tour, and covered both managers on Broadway. And all 3 times starred alongside his wife, Trista Moldovan!

And while not understudies, there is also Craig Bennett, Maree Johnson, Raquel Suarez Groen, and Carlton Moe. Craig has been with the show since 2013, playing Firmin in the Restaged US Tour and Broadway. Maree Johnson has played Giry on Broadway and Sydney Harbour, along with playing Christine in Australia from 1990-96. Maree, Raquel, and Carlton have all been on Broadway since 2017.

Shoutout to the master for letting me share, Jeremy has some great vocals here and this duo is certainly a rare one!
