Описание: The fat-lamp was a hollow stone in which fat with a wick was burned to help warm and illuminate middle to upper stone age period dwellings but any tree sap that burned was also used. Next came the fired clay oil lamp or terracotta-lamp used to illuminate buildings and temples in ancient Kingdoms. In 1850 the storm lantern was patented after the advent of kerosene fuels [Abraham Pineo Gesner a Physician and Geologist invented the first kerosene fuel in 1847 from albertite a mineral only found in what would be New Brunswick] but other kerosene fuels were soon taken from other geological sources. The glass oil lamp was invented as soon as man learned how to turn sand in to glass.
