Pali-English Dictionary: Tool to look up words :Learn Pali Language

Описание: You'd think looking up a word in the PTS Pali dictionary is fairly simple right? Especially today with online dictionaries and electronic searching. But I have found searching for words in the Pali-English dictionary to be NOT as simple as it first appears.
You're faced with a couple of purely practical problems. First, you have to be able to enter diacritic marks; but even if you're cut-n-pasting directly from a text, you may find the word you're looking for is represented differently in the dictionary to how it is in the Sutta.
For instance, when occurring in the middle of a word, a niggahīta ‘ṃ’ in some Pali texts can be replaced by a nasal - ṅ, ñ, ṇ, n, or just a plain m;
In fact, the Pali English Dictionary of the Pali Text Society has quite a few idiosyncrasies that make looking up words not straightforward.
