Former National Director of Public Prosecutions , Advocate Bulelani Ngcuka, says he was never subjected to political interference regarding TRC cases during his tenure.
Ngcuka, who testified on the eleventh day of the TRC Cases Inquiry public hearings, was democratic South Africa's first NDPP and held office from 1998 to 2004.
He has put the lack of many prosecutions down to a lack of evidence, given the historical nature of many of the cases, as well as limited resources of the then-new NPA.
