Vega 64 + Thermal Grizzly

Описание: So if you have seen any of my other videos where I test a cooler or clean up a graphics card there is a fairly good chance you will have heard me say something like

“Then I applied some MX-2 Thermal Paste”

And the reason for that is simple. As far as thermal pastes go, Arctics MX-2 performs better than stock applications, isn’t electrically conductive which means its safe to use on GPU’s, has a low cure time and most importantly it's one of the cheapest recognised pastes you can buy.. And when your building and cleaning up multiple components on a weekly basis the cost factor is amplified in its importance.

But it’s by no means “the best” performing. Sure its fairly easy to use and spread but its thermal conductivity - which is the measure of how easily heat will be transferred through it is not exactly class leading - sitting at 5.6W/(mK), its better than OEM stock paste for sure .. But that means its only has 45% the thermal conductivity of this...

Now the bulk of todays video is fairly simple, at the end of 2018, I replaced the VRM Thermal Pad on my Strix Vega 64 with a higher performing and better sized one from Thermal Grizly, but when re-assembling the card I simply used my tried and trusted MX-2 on the GPU & HBM2 package.

We all know that Vega can kick out a good bit of heat so I want to see if there is any benefit to using a premium paste on an application like this.
