Wrap up on Zoom lesson, August 20, 2020. In order to dissect the open promenade we looked at the alignment of step three of the open promenade as compared with the closed promenade. Note that the man is between DW and Wall on the open promenade as he prepares to step outside partner on step four. The use of the thighs and direction of the leg bones are addressed in shaping the transitions from promenade to outside partner, back to closed, then preparing for partner outside on the reverse turn. This is a "basic" combination. The technique is quite advanced if good style and form are the goals.
