Wymeswold is a picturesque village in Leicestershire with a surprisingly rich history ranging from Saxon royalty to WWII aviation.
Long before the modern era, Wymeswold was a significant center for dairy. In the 1920s, the village was home to six dairies specifically producing Stilton cheese. Archaeological finds, including fragments of a Roman cheese press discovered in the 1990s, suggest that dairying has been a staple of the local economy for nearly 2,000 years.
