Описание: When we visit Amer, the only place worth visiting that crosses your mind is probably Amer Fort, followed by the later additions of Nahargarh and Jaigarh. The old city of Amer holds architectural treasures not on the usual tourist radar. On our recent trip to Rajasthan, we visited a few of these structures and a breathtaking viewpoint. Today's video is about our visit to Sagar Lake and the adjacent Amer Fort viewpoint. This area comes alive during the monsoon season, and is best to visit post-monsoons. There are quite a view trails through the jungles, leading to old temples and fort ruins. The fort boundaries dotting the Aravalli ranges around Amer were built to enhance security and defend these lands years back. Today, they stand in silence, witnessing the urbanisation of this city which once served as a Meena state and later, the capital city of Kacchawa Rajputs (before the establishment of Jaipur).
We climbed the fort boundaries from the foot of the Sagar Lake, a reservoir built to harvest rainwater and address water scarcity issues of Amer. After a steep climb, we witnessed a breathtaking, never-seen-before sunrise with the Amer For right in front of us. Below, was the old city with its havelis, kunds and mandirs - waking up from their sleep as the golden sunlight kissed them.
