For some reason during the 1900s,
it was determined that plow planes would be the nicest
and prettiest tool in a cabinetmaker or a carpenter's inventory. Greenfield Tool Company, was known for making very high end, very decorative planes. Many exotic woods were used for plow planes such as ebony. Occasionally you will find plow planes that are solid boxwood. I think these planes are among
the most beautiful tools ever made.
