In the late 80s ads appeared in Paintball Sports Magazine and Action Pursuit Games showing National Gun Sports' (NGS') Savage Pump Paintgun.
From what I have been able to figure out, NGS made their Savage pump, the CV-1 12 gram quick change and a unique style of trigger shoe. They also offered their nelson parts including their unique long asa separately.
Their name choice, the Savage, could have been interpreted as a rugged marker, that survives a lot of abuse while still being able to unleash fury on its opponents. Unfortunately looking back, the Native American caricature in their ads just comes off as politically incorrect today.
The most interested aspect to me about NGS' products is how scare they seem to be today, their ads appeared (I would guess) in close to a year of magazine publications yet I have only come across 2 of their pumps, and 3 of their CV-1 12 gram changers. Their nelson accessories are probably the most common besides their trigger shoes, especially their long backbottle.
The Savage did have a few unique features, the threaded bracket which allowed the body to remain screw hole free. The bracket used more course threads and pinched the frame.
The aluminum Body featured a welded feedneck rather than a press fit and some models had a 62 caliber insert in the body. Not sure of the internals were different dimensions for this insert or not or just ramped into the smaller bore from a standard bolt?
The 12 gram changer, CV1 was also innovative, since it allowed for a live chamber and for the 12 gram to expand slightly both in the live chamber and valve. The downward facing 12 gram head also would likely eliminate some liquid and may result in more consistent shots?
I traded Jason Finnie for this pump back in 2011. Unfortunately shortly after I recorded this in May I learned Jason had recently passed away.
Here is Jason's original thread on MCB about the Savage:

And a little more information about the CV-1 12 gram changer:

In this thread, Jeff, "The Shootist" also writes that NGS was working on a bore drop undercocking paintgun named the Mantis. I haven't been able to find any mention or photos of this paintguns unfortunately.
I would imagine that the Savage was more popular and well know on the East Coast and the other model I have seen at EMR looked to be engraved with a rental number. The rental number NGS 30 likely indicated that NGS also owned a field at the time?
Anyone with more information please message me.
