First build of the summer! I am stoked
I based this design off of the Salomon Huck Knife 158 cm. I copied the stance width, side-cut radius and tip width so that I could get myself started. The tip shape is my design though, and I was shooting for a blunted look which I am actually very proud of. I am still somewhat new to board making so I did make some mistakes. I didn't cut a rabbit into the core for the edge to sit into which caused the edges to rise up off the base some, my tapering is uneven as I did it by hand (I am going to use a router bed next time), my edges are close but not perfectly bent into shape, and I have some significant air bubbles. Despite all of these things I am very happy with how it turned out! It is stiffer than I was shooting for but I still like the flex. I am very happy with the shape and overall look of the board. I can't wait until winter!
