Just a bit of history of the actual plane:
After enduring heavy losses to the Japanese Navy's Zero fighters in the early stages of the Pacific War, the U.S. Navy became focused on developing new fighter capable of turning the tides of aerial combat. Among those fighters was the Corsair, high-speed carrier borne aircraft. Introduced into service in 1942, the Vought F4U-1 featured inverted gull wings and a massive 2,000hp engine spinning the largest propeller mounted on a fighter at the time.

This is a wonderful kit in the Tamiya Warbird collection series. The interior detail is just superb and rivals that of the 1/48 version, including the see-through cockpit floor and under fuselage window that just about all other Corsair models miss. There is a decal for the instrument panel, and for the seat harness. There is good sidewall and wheel well detail and the wells themselves are properly deep. The engine has both rows of cylinders and there is an option for open or closed cowl flaps.

Instructions are to the point as per Tamiya standard. Markings are for three aircraft, all in the tri-color scheme. I made this one as Ira Kepford's VF-17 aircraft. Took a creative liberty in making the nose ring yellow :) I hope you like and enjoy the build video.
