This is a business seminar organized by Take Action Today on June 24th, 2014. In this seminar, Chris Yeh, an author of the book named The Alliance - Managing Talent in the networked age - (http://www.theallianceframework.com/) had an introduction of the book before the book is published. This book contains three main concept as follows.
1)Tour of Duty
Having a Tour of Duty enables for employer to enhance "Lifetime Employability" of employee as well as for employee to enhance "Adaptability" of employer. In the talk, the speaker will provide an example of the company where they set four years of Tour of Duty for each employee. As a result employees and managers performed very well and the company achieved rapid growth.
2)The importance of external network
The employee who has an external network tends to contribute an innovation at the company. In the talk, the speaker will provide a successful example of the company where they compensate the expense which employee use to build an external network.
3)Corporate Alumni
In general, ex-employee has a new knowledge/wisdom which previous company doesn't have so it is quite critical to install the knowledge/wisdom from ex-employee, namely corporate alumni. In the talk, the speaker will provide an example of the company which manages alumni organization in order to collect latest knowledge at any industry. Surprisingly, 40% of the revenue of the company comes from companies where alumni manages / belongs.
