App-Based Drivers are Uber, Lyft, or DoorDash workers. If approved by voters, California's Proposition 22 would exempt those drivers from state labor laws. Instead, the drivers would be Independent Contractors.
A "YES" Vote means you agree that Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash Drivers should be independent contractors. They will be exempt from overtime and other laws that are designed to protect workers.
A "NO" Vote means you support giving these drivers minimum wage, extra money for health care, and other benefits.
According to Ballotpedia, Prop. 22 is the most expensive ballot measure since 1999. As of this posting, both sides have accepted contributions adding up to almost $200 million.
