This dish is called "Kai Mot Daeng", which translates to Egg Ant Red, or red ant eggs. Actually these are the larvae of eggs that have already hatched. You can see the contraption used in the video, a long stick with a bucket which they stick into the ant nest and shake the larvae out. It's a pretty fun activity, you just have to be careful not to have ants fall on your head, but we all got bit anyways, so did the dog!
Another interesting part is how she tricks the ants by using a piece of cloth which she moves through the water and tha ants attack it, sticking to the cloth so she can pull the ants out, leaving the larvae in the water!
