This is purification of Fluorenone. Column chromatography is used to purify the compound.
First make the slurry of silica gel and chloroform. You can use solvent like #pet ether or #hexane to form #slurry. Once the bed is ready place a cotton & on that place your compound which is dissolved in solvent. Then use the solvent system such as 8:2 (Pet ether: Ethyl acetate). Collect the different colour #bands separately. Some may be purity.
Take a TLC and see the which one is your compound.
After a evaporation of solvent you will get purified compound.
