++ PLEASE NOTE: Throughout the day, civilians had been fleeing Marjayoun in long convoys. AP Television filmed one convoy passing through the town of Hasbaya, 15km northeast of Marjayoun. This convoy matches the AP news wire description of the convoy that was hit by an Israeli drone. However, since AP Television did not accompany the convoy, we cannot fully assert the convoy filmed in Hasbaya is the actual convoy that was hit on the west side of the Bekaa Valley++

STORYLINE:
An Israeli drone fired missiles on Friday night into a convoy of refugees fleeing attacks in the southern Lebanese town of Marjayoun, killing at least six people and wounding 36 others, an Associated Press photographer travelling with the convoy said.
The Israeli army said it had not granted clearance for the convoy to proceed, and stated it could not guarantee the safety of convoys that have not coordinated and received permission to travel.
Lutfallah Daher, the AP photographer, was with the convoy when it was hit near the Bekaa Valley town of Chtaura, about 50 kilometres (30 miles) north of the Litani River, below which Israel had warned it would attack any vehicle on the roads, assuming it was carrying Hezbollah weapons or fighters.
Daher said one other person was reported in critical condition, undergoing surgery.
The Israeli army said the convoy was hit after the military spotted suspicious activity on a route that is often used by Hezbollah to transport weapons to the south.
The military said that the convoy had asked for permission to travel, which was refused because it was deemed too dangerous.
Israeli tanks and infantry took control of the town early Thursday.
Daher said UN peacekeepers reported the convoy consisted of 515 civilian vehicles and those carrying a detachment of 350 Lebanese soldiers and police when it left the area around Marjayoun.
He said very few of the vehicles had left the convoy when it was hit.
