A warm welcome back to noted purveyor of Balearic beats and sample-rich downtempo trips Secret Soul Society, AKA Cardiff-based veteran Cal Gibson. Following a prolific 2025 in which he appeared on Hell Yeah, Citizens of Vice, Spa in Disco and Paper Recordings, Gibson is back on Rayko's Rare Wiri label. The former Neon Heights man starts in typically slow-motion fashion on the dubby, dreamy and intoxicating 'Clear Up My Mind' (which naturally boasts some unusual but excellent vocal samples), before sprinting towards the dancefloor on seriously bass-heavy, spaced-out dub disco number 'Disco Minded'. Elsewhere, 'Dub Know Why' is dark, twisted, space out and deliciously odd, while 'Sunny Today' is a neo Italo-disco chugger with added dark disco synths and plenty of early morning colour.
